DDA
Debit
A charge to a customers bankcard account. A Transaction, such as a Check, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) withdrawal, or Point-of-Sale (POS) debit purchase that debits a demand deposit account.
Debit Card
A PIN-based or signature-based Card used to purchase goods and services and to obtain cash by way of a debit to the Cardholder's deposit or pre-paided account.
Decline Code
An Authorization Code indicating that the Transaction is declined and the Card is not to be honored.
Declined Pick-Up Code
An Authorization Code indicating that the Transaction is declined and the Card should be retained by the Merchant.
Demand Deposit Account
A commercial banking account designated by the Merchant through which all Transactions, fees, charges, adjustments and chargebacks are processed.
DES3
Discount Rate
A type of fee paid by a Merchant to process its Card Transactions. Discount is calculated by multiplying the Discount Rate by the Volume of Card Transactions.
Doing Business As (DBA)
The trade name of a Merchant that may appear on business signs, customer literature or other documents.
