Year 2000 (Y2K)
The Y2K problem was the result of an industry practice that for more than 35 years had represented years in dates as only two digits, assuming in application logic that the first two digits of the year are "19". A variety of errors were introduced once such applications had to deal with dates beyond December 31st, 1999.
